Its not wooden made, instead its just a lightweight aluminum canopy (mirror finished!) with one 40w tube. Its 42" long and sits over the glass on the tank. There are no problems of evaporation. Look at the top of the tank, over the black thing, its very thin: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Sharpix/AquaStand/AquariumStand1.jpg Its an aluminum canopy, a 40w electronic ballast, two plastic clips that hold the tube, the 40w tube itself and a 127v plug. It lights very well because the mirror finish reflects light perfect. You can fit 2, 3 or even 4 bulbs to it. The electronic ballasts have the connectors just to connect the tube. you just need a 127 plug and voila!. Its MUCH better than any pre-made canopy because the light efficiency. Just go to an Lighting store and ask for a 42" canopy for flourescent tubes and watch it. You'll like it and the fabrication is super simple... the ballasts are labeled with wiring instructions, but in fact its a matter of fitting a 127v plug with the only 2 wires left... hahaha |
