This past weekend I bought a new 100 watt Ebo Jager heater.
I noticed the top looks alittle different than my other Ebos.
On the older heaters there is a minimum water line.
But on the new heater the line is placed higher on the heater and it says do not immerse beyond the line.
After doing some searching and found out that indeed the new heater is not completely submersible.]:|

So now I'm wondering, were the old Ebo Jager heaters completely submersible?

I don't think that Ebo Jager Heaters are submersible. If there is nothing written on them, they are not submersible. On Ebo Jager Hearers, there is always the min & max water levels.

Below is a link to the store that I bought the heater from. Although my heater looks different then the one shown, it has a grey top, not yellow. It actually states on that page that the heater is not completely submersible.

If it isn't submersible, then don't submerse it. It's better to be safe than sorry. On the plastic top, you've got the marks for the water level.

For the new heater I definitly want fully submerse it, since it states not to.
But for the old heaters, all it has labeled is a minimum water line. I've always kept the old ones fully submersed and never had a problem. So I'm assuming those are safe to do so. Why would Eheim change one of the most important qualities of the heater?

I've got a newer one that also says do not submerse. I've had it fully submersed for well over 1 year. As I recall reading, the label was put their for some legal reason, but they are in fact safe to submerse.
