I have a 20 gallon tank with a Top-Fin filter. I need to find replacement parts or I will have to buy a new filter. If anyone knows where I can find them on the web, please help me out.

In case I have to get a new one, I could use some advice on what type of filter is the best - a hang-on, internal, or an underground system.

Here's what I have in the tank:

1 gold gourami
6 cories
1 otto

Thanks for the help!

Most of the internet suppliers should have what you're looking for or just do a google search. As far as a filter if it was me I would go with a Penguin Bio-Wheel, but the Aqua Clear Model 50 would also be good.

I think a Hang On Back filter would be fine for that setup.

I wouldn't worry about replacement parts you can get HOB filters cheap.

Try http://www.bigalsonline.com/

That's where I buy almost all of my aquarium equipment. They have the best prices and shipping is pretty cheap.

Thanks for the help! I've been thinking about getting a penguin system, but thought it might be cheaper to get the piece I need to replace.

Newbie - Thanks for the great link! That's exactly the type of site I was looking for!

I plan on getting a bigger tank, maybe a 50 or so in about 6 months, and I was wondering if I got the Penguin 100 Bio-wheel (up to 70g) would that be too much filter for the 20g? I couldn't tell from the description if the water intake is adjustable on it. Any ideas? Thanks again for the help!

Also check PetSmart I know that they carry tons of replacement pieces and if I'm mistaken they definately carry Top Fin replacement pieces...At my PetSmart they are in the fish area, where they have a podium type stand that they bag the fishies up at...or just ask, they should be able to tell you heidi michelle
