This may sound a bit silly but I'm new at this fish thing and a bit paranoid. I just got a Marineland Dual-Temp 40-75 Precision Submersible Heater (300 Watt). What I need to know is whether the ENTIRE unit may be submerged or whether the top part with the cord attached has to remain above water.<br>thanks

great to ask FishGuy

The entire thing can go underwater, along with a good length of the cord if needs be.

make sure you create a 'drip loop', which is basically ensuring there is part of the cord that is lower than where it plugs in to the wall in case water ever runs down the cord. Its just a safety precaution.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett
