what plants did you use in those tanks?

The bottom tank has a large piece of driftwood that looks like a tree stump on the left side; there is hornwort and anacharis floating above it. The anacharis is actually one piece that's almost 7' long The rest of the tank is planted with Amazon and other smaller swords, and dwarf sag.

The top tank has cabomba, anacharis and a radican sword in the back. The plants in the front are anubias and crypts.

so it would be safe to put a 29 on top and a 20 long on the bottom?

I also noticed there are oak ones...would those be stronger? I don't want to have any problems of a tank falling thru on top of my other tank lol.

20 gal long version is the same stand for 29 gal tank, same bottom footprint. Fits a 29 gal on top, and nicely fits a 20 gal on bottom. Or you could just have 2 20 longs.

I have three of these stands, for 10g, 20g, and 29g. All are plenty sturdy.

One warning, though. The 29g stand is such that the bottom tank is too close to the top tank; the hood won't even open all the way and it's hard to vacuum and even change the filter media. If you get the 29g version I would recommend putting a 20L on the bottom shelf.

where did you purchase your double 10 gallon stand?

At a lfs, [link=Aquarium Center]http://www.aquariumcenter.com/index.php" style="COLOR: #336699[/link]. They sell supplies and plants online, but I couldn't find the stand on their site. Might only be available at the store.

Been wondering that, i would think iron stand is a iron stand, made usually to hold 2 aquariums. But anyone own one that can tell me? or know if they do? Got a place that will beat their price of $24.97.

That sounds like a good price. I have one for 10g tanks, the only complaint I have is it's somewhat inconvenient to gravel vac the lower tank.

Pic I just took today of mine:

i tested it at work first by placen 500lbs of steel on it it held 750lbs no the iron started to give it so id say round 600lbs dead load for the style i have but i believe its made for 2 15g tanks just check out the welds first
