does anyone have a pic of these 2 fish tank stands? they sound interesting and i don't believe i've seen them. I think it would be perfect so i could fit another fish tank.

I always play it safe with metal stands ... i have one of theirs that is designed for a 29g, I put a 20g on the bottom. However before i put the bottom one in i used plywood to build up a base that is level with the bottom rim and then put the tank in. The bad thing about most stands is that they have legs instead of a base on the floor, and in a leak that isnt caught soon enough, even 200lbs can go through a floor. The plywood insert helps to spread the weight.

Wal-Mart doesn't own Tetra, otherwise K-Mart and Target and Big Lots and Rite-Aid and Savon-On and PETsMART and PETCO wouldn't be selling anything by tetra.

Anyway, so those wrought iron stands can hold two tanks of the size their intended for? Cool! Now I can get discus and Jack Dempseys!

not for around here, most LFS want $49.99 and most won't match wal-marts. But i found one, and the stand is already put together and know it is easy to get them out and in, my guess is wal-mart must have designed their own? don't they own tetra or something...? Thanx for the input guys

The iron stand is made to hold two full 10-gallon tanks...

The price is the common retail for an iron 10-gallon stand.

I actually own 2 of the and they are pretty sturdy stands. I am assuming that you are talking about the newer ones though. Both of mine have 2 10's on them and they hold up fine. The only problem I had was actually getting the bottom tank in there. You basically have to assemble the stand around the tank. Put the stand together starting with the bottom shelf, place the bottom tank, then do the top shelf. This also means that if the stand shifts too much before all the bolts are tight, the bottom tank will be cracked. This applies to the newer ones with the squared corners.

The older ones were even better. They had round legs that fit up into the bottom of the top of the stand and flare out at the bottom to fit in the bottom tank. These didn't shift as much side to side and allowed removal of the bottom tank without removing anything. I think they might still sell these at other stores, but the last one I saw was on clearance at a Meijer dept. store.
