Jebo CFS4 Media and Advice | |
jacobsstcg Small Fry Posts: 5 Kudos: 6 Votes: 0 Registered: 10-Jan-2006 | I just setup a new 35g hex and purchased a Jebo Odyssea CFS4 filter for it (couldn't resist the price). On my other two aquariums I have bio-wheels so this is my first canister. However because the CFS4 does not come with any manual I am not quite sure what order the media should be stacked in the caniser (or if it even makes a difference). Also I was browsing around at my LFS (they sell Fluval and Rena) and noticed a fairly diverse selection of media. What media would you recommend I run in this setup, and are the different brands of media fairly interchangable between the different filter brands? Thanks |

Biological and chemical media can be placed right before the finest media if there's a risk of something like carbon chunks getting to the impeller or they can be placed after fine filter media. Placing bio and chem media too early will cause it to get clogged with junk too quickly. In my jebo cannister I was using all eheim media but have switched a few things out lately. I use eheim coarse media, eheim fine media, then fill the 3rd basket with several la Last edited by sham at 12-Jan-2006 02:14 |
