I am so confused! I have a 125g, trying to get enough light to have at least 3wpg. How the hell do you do that and still be able to sleep, pay your power bill, etc? It came with two 36" strips. I have a shoplight which will hold two bulbs. Even if I get 40w bulbs for all, that still doesn't add up? Is there something I'm missing? Help, please!

Hi,

I understand how you feel, I was researching light options for quiet a while now. Anyway, I would suggest that you look into Power Compact Fluorescent Lights (PC).

Depending on your tank’s length ( I guess either 48” or 72” ) you could fit certainly enough light over a glass top. For example, there are various options for the 72” with 4x96W.

But be warned, the initial cost is rather high ($ 400 ++) plus you will have to replace your PCs between every 6 months to a 1 year.

Hope this helps,

Ingo
