Doh! I lost the brand new light bulb that came with my 2.5 gal Betta Mini-bow. It has a UGF and a simple 15w tubular incandescent bulb. Is this something I can just get at Lowes or Home Depot? None of the pet stores sells these replacements. One sold me night lights and said they would work, but when I got home, the socket is much larger. . I can't even look at it for reference. ]:|

Hey Diane, go to Wal-Mart and in the fish section, they have blue boxes in the "supplies" heaters, pumps and such. It will cost you about 2.50 for 2 of them...not bad, and they last pretty much forever..Heidi

But, I'll remember that.

I think it is the dumbest design I've seen thus far. The sheild does not run the length of the incandescent bulb. The bubbles on the water surface from the UGF pop and spray upwards coating the entire underside, including the sheild and exposed bulb. It runs past the shield by about a good 1/2 inch, if not more. Silly, if you ask me. One of these days it will get wet enough and just explode when the light goes on

I'm going to call them and discuss the issue since they have no email address.
