Here's a link for a company that sells kits for lighting, whether or not any will work with your current hood, I don't know but you should be able to determine from the info on the sight. It may be cheaper in the long run to just purchase a new twin light setup.

you can add a new tube no problem if you are handy at a bit DIY you can get tube clips a jube and a starter at your LFS and just screw direct through the top of the hood to secure the clips hey presto multiple tubes...............................
or you could buy and new hood with the fittings already fixed!! i prefer the cheaper way

hope that helps

One of the lighting sources I use is:

I would just modify your current hood if possible.

Once again the lfs rears its ugly head. Stay out of the lfs for lighting needs. Better to hit the home improvement stores and save that cash for something more important, like filters. For a standard 48" 55gal tank why not just get yourself a twin tube shoplight. The light can be had for $7-$15, the more expensive one can be laid right on the glass top of the tank as it has wings which will support it nicely. Aquarium lights of the T12 variety can be had for $7.95 each as well. So, for $30 you just upgraded your lights and saved a ton of money. As for adding a tube to a light fixture, you will find that clips, ballast, and starter will run you in the neighborhood of $40, cheaper to replace the whole thing. I know, I use shop lights on all my larger tanks for this very reson.
