I've just aquired a new nutrafin co2 system, it's off to a good start. I only have 1.5 wpg (hope this is not too less light for a co2 sys). Now my question is: I got a aquaclear 300 and it doing quite a bit of water agitation. I've set the power to it minimum, would this render my co2 system useless/near useless?

With HOB filters like AC's it's best to have the water level as high as possible, that allows the filter to still function fully, but by raising the water level you lower the ammount of agitation.
I have my water level set so that there is almost no splash and you have to look from underneith to see if theres any water flow.
I'd try and up the lights too if you can to 2wpg .

BigGee,

I have two of the Nutrafin systems on my 46 gallon tank.
What kind of bubble rate are you getting.

I was getting 1 bubble every five seconds, now with two cansisters and one ladder I'm getting a bubble every 3 seconds.

I did pretty much what Babelfish said. My return is below the water line.

Well I just started the system and it's getting 1 bubble every 7 secs declined from 1/30.
I'm gonna have to try to think of a way to up my water level cause that HOB is REALLY high (maybe cut some plastic)
Right now I got 2 40 watts florescent light bulbs in there
(1 power glow and 1 GE Plant aquarium bulb). I can't seem to find any bulb with higher than 40watts at my lfs. I was wondering where u guys/gals get the higher verions?

How big is the tank.
Most higher watt blubs are compact fluroscents.
