I guess I will have to get another Aquarium Systems Visi-Therm 200 watt heater. I didn't want to have two heaters, but I guess I don't have a choice. Thanks! for the help. |

Fish On The Brains Hobbyist Posts: 141 Kudos: 126 Votes: 65 Registered: 04-Jan-2005 | No problem NeptunesLady You could go with the 200W heater that's 15", it's rated for a 40-75 gal. Or try placing the 250W horizontally?... plenty of room in a tank that size. But wait! how is the back of your aquarium set up? how deep is your substrate? EDIT: By set up, I meen planted, drift/bog wood, rocks. Is your 55 gal. a 48 x 13 x 20 (L" x W" x H" Last edited by bala shark at 09-Feb-2005 21:12 |

NeptunesLady Hobbyist Posts: 71 Kudos: 197 Votes: 64 Registered: 29-May-2004 | Right now I have two 110's and one of them is going on the fritz. It keeps jumping up to 80-82degrees from 78 degrees. So... I thought I would buy a 250 watt heater and have a 200 watt heater for backup. I saw in another thread that alot of people use the jagar, but I didn't know how long it was. My tank is those measurements, and I have about 2.5" of gravel, no bog or real plants (newbie)! |

Fish On The Brains Hobbyist Posts: 141 Kudos: 126 Votes: 65 Registered: 04-Jan-2005 | Alot of people seem to like the Jager's, I've got two... a 50W for my planted 10, and a 100W for my planted 20. I can hardly wait till the 400W'er is bought for the 90 gal.! Awww Lady! have you ever thought of giving live plants a go? They make a world of a difference for looks, water quality and your fish most of all And it doesn't have to be back breaking to enjoy them either. Just choose according to your current lighting vs plant needs and you should be fine! There's more to growing live plants than that in your aquarium, but it's easy, fun and you'll wish you had done it sooner... I'm glad I did bala shark |
