Optima Air Pump | |
angie6999 Hobbyist Posts: 125 Kudos: 57 Votes: 0 Registered: 06-Dec-2003 | Yesterday I purchased a 130 gallon tank, filters and an Optima air pump. I also bought a check valve and a 3 way plastic airline valve. Could someone explain to me how to set this up? I'm familar with small air pumps, but can't figure out how the 3 way air valve gets connected to the rest of it. I will be using an 12 inch air stone beneath the sand, and eventually, an aerating ornament. This was the advice given to me at the LFS, but the didn't how to put everything together and I can't find any instructions incorporating the 3 way valve. Input appreciated.:%) |

Adjust the valves and get the air to go where you want it. The valve on the side is usually where you connect the pump to. The valves above each of the adjusting knobs is where to connect the air line tubing into the tank. You can have one valve open or all three, it doesn't matter. The optima is a great pump and replacement diaphrams can be purchased (the thingy that makes the air) so they last forever. Just dont turn off all the valves at once or you will damage the diaphram on the pump. I hope that helped!
