I just got a 20 gallon long fish tank. I got a Penguin 150 Bio-wheel Power Filter which filters 150 gallons an hour and is for up to 30 gallon aquariums. I was planning on keeping mostly mollies and a couple other small fish in the aquarium. Please help.

Thanks

Jamie

that filter would be fine for what you need it for no problem.

I have the same filter in my 20 gal. regular and it seems to work just fine. I have a question about biowheels, though. I fill my tank up high enough that there isnt a little waterfall from my biowheel, it just silently pours right into the top of the water... I just started doing this to cut down on noise, and i was wondering if it is a bad idea to not have the water making bubbles as it goes in. Any thoughts on water height with a biowheel?

i run all my biowheels level with the surface to cut down noise. the bubbles dont create oxegan in the water its the surface agitation so over the top is fine.

Thanks! I feel much better now. I think my fishies appreciate the extra inches of space, as well.
