I keep seeing pictures of the Aquaclear Powerheads have two air hoses on them on I know is from a reactor or air pump. But what is the other one for? I bought one used and it had no paperwork with it.

Thanks

Aquaclears have various connections for various applications especially for connecting to undergravel filters but the only tubing mine came with was the air connection. It doesn't usualy hook to anything(at least not for freshwater uses). You just shove it in the hole coming out the top of the output and run it to the surface of the tank. It pulls from the air above the tank and pushes it out with the water it's sucking from the bottom. I've only used them temporarily when a tank needed extra aeration for a short time. Otherwise it's usually unneccessary. Some come with a plug for the air hole but I just leave it. The only thing that's ever gotten stuck in there is a trumpet snail. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/images/articles/a_564_powerhead.jpg

If you have 2 air tubes 1 is probably from another powerhead or a backup. Any other pieces you have should be for connecting various things like UGF to the bottom of the powerhead.

Better to run out of space first than money.
