What is your water pressure going into it? Did u let it fully hydrate? When u turn it off u have to keep water in it. Or u can remove the membrane and seal it in a zip lock back(air tight) with 2 table spoons of water or other wise directed.

"What is your water pressure going into it?"
- No idea

"Did u let it fully hydrate?"
- I don't know, maybe LOL (total newb here!)

How do I know if there is water in it when its turned off? The setup instructions (which wasn't that helpfull) didn't say anything about that...

thanks
ashley

The best thing to do is to keep it hooked up to the water supply at all times......this way the membrane doesnt dry out. Your water pressure going into the ro membrane should be 60-70 PSI for optimal water quality and life of the ro membrane. Its also a good idea to buy a flush valve so you can flush the membrane after every use.

My suggestion is to buy a guage to measure the water pressure. Im guessing that you dont have the correct pressure and your filter isnt working the way it should. Also check to make sure that your cartridges are installed correctly, and the cylinders are properly seated. If your water has a high sediment then your sediment filter might also be clogged....I doubt this is the problem though.

For maint. remember to replace the sediment filter and carbon once every 3-6 months to increase the life of your ro membrane and DI resin (if you have it). Its also a good idea to run the ro unit atleast once a week.......its funny with ro units, the more you use them, the longer the ro membrane lasts.

*edit* Almost forgot....whats your water temp coming out of the faucet? Ideal temp is around 70 degrees for maximum water production.

How much brine water are you dumping down the drain compared to the amount of "clean" water you get?

And finally....did you do anything with the flow restrictor? If its not the right length then it can either increase your water or decrease your water.

It is hooked up all the time. It comes with a flush thing so i flush it out after i use it- or inbetween if its on for a while.

If it is the pressure then how do i increase it?

The temp coming out is about 67 degrees, is that alright?

The thing said it should produce 1/3 RO water, the rest is the waste. But it makes way more waste water.

I didn't do anything with it, its always in the 'closed' position when iam makeing water. What do you mean by length?

thanks for your help!
