I was wondering how best to change the filters to minimize damage to the biological filter. Basically, how long should I run both? |

After taking off the Penguin, I'd test the water carefully for a while to make sure things are OK. |

Then, I'd take the bio-wheel off the Penguin filter, and float it in the canister. Most of the bacteria will be on the bio-wheel, so you won't loss any is you transfer it into the canister filter. |
