I know that T8s provide more lumens with less wattage and all that, but can the two (T8 and T12) be used in the same type of ballast?

I looked over the forums already and didn't see anything.

Thanks,
matt

yes, I have dont this combo many times. But, if you go to T5s HO, you will need a different ballast.

There are some models of electronic ballasts for T8 models that can support either one or two tubes, just depending how are they wired.

Those are a little expensive but are worth every penny because are smaller, are contained in sealed plastic housings and they don't blink later in their life. They prolong the tube's life by giving a more stable current.
