How long have you had it, and what type of bulb are you talking about (fluourescent, etc)? Another stupid comment, but when I first put a bulb in my ten gallon's strip light... well, the stupid fluourescent didn't snap in all the way (old fixture, tight fit for bulb) and it wouldn't always work. You might want to check the fit of the bulb. *shrugs* Can you describe exactly what happened? I think we need a bit more info before we can really answer your question.
