Ok guys... I have a good idea.

Do you guys think it would be nice to turn a console tv into a fishtank? The screen is just wide enough to fit in a 10 gallon, and I can cut a hole in the top for feeding/gravel vacs. Maby put some plastic on top. The tv is 22" wide, and 17" high.. while the fishtank is 21" wide, and 12" high.

Is there like a 20 gallon high tank, or something that will fit in that space? Or acually will any other tank fit in that space? (not custom made of course)

The tv is pretty high, around 40" and has 2 shelves down below (to store fishfood or something I guess).

do you think it is possible at all?

I've seen it done numerous times. Television sets, computer monitors, etc. I think it is cheesey, but if it's something you like , it's definitely doable.

Hi, new guy here. My girlfriend has a setup like this with a 29 gallon tank and here are my issues with it:

- First, you can't really see much of the tank except for from the front. I suppose the fish like this since you cant sneek up on them as easy.
- Second the setup is pain to work on. It is major chore to do simple stuff like water changes and cleaning algae is harder.

They look ok to me, but the novelty wears off fast.

It sounds like a good idea, but I'm sure it would be tough to make. Also, it would probably be difficult to tinker with the tank should you want/need to. I would spend my time on the tanks I already have.

Well, thanks guys

Alot of people are saying it is stupid, but i would personally think it would look nice.

Also, the tank I have now hasn't changed in 15 years. We have found that if you don't mess with your tanks and stuff every day, the fish live longer (we have some 15 year old fish) and it stressed out the fish, causing diseases, like ich (which we have never had in the 15 years that the tank has been setup HERE)

15 yrs? That is good going for a wishy. Congrats.

Why not do your tv tank just for a laugh! As long as it isn't going to be too much of a pain to clean etc!

would be fun for an office environ.
