As the topic name suggests, where can I get hold of incandescent hoods in Sydney?

i've never actually seen them... I assume you could construct one, by buying a wooden hood, fixing the lights to it and then sealing it behind perspex or something, but no, i've never seen them for sale.

I'll keep my eyes open now tho

Is there a particular reason you dont want a fluro tube setup? Trying to get more watts in using CF screw-ins?

Well I thought they could perhaps be cheaper than buying a fluororescent hood.

You might as well spend the extra 10 or 20 bux and just get a fluoro hood... you might even be lucky to save that much, if any at all! Be a smart shopper - if you need the lights for plants buy the proper lighting the first time, saves money later on after you discover you need more lighting to grow plants (not including the numerous plants that will die). If it's just a "light" to show off your fish - then go to ikea and get one of those stylish desk lamps. Simple and easy.
