Working Around Phython Siphon | |
Garofoli Big Fish Posts: 337 Kudos: 143 Votes: 27 Registered: 12-Apr-2006 | Hello, I am trying to find a way around the Phyton Gravel filter, and make my own. I was planning on putting my siphon head on a long tube that will go straight from my tank to sink. I was going to use a funnel to bring water back in. Does anyone know the size of tube I will need for the standard gravel siphon head? BTW I am going to use a 25' tube. Thanks. Chris |

The best thing would be to cut off just a small section of what you have, 1/2" will do and take it with you to your local building supply store (cheaper than the lfs) and compare it to what they have on hand. I haven't used one in years. Last one i used at home blew up and i didn't dare at work because we had a very high tap pressure. Plastic + High Pressure = Soaked fish room. |

The pipes sprayed water all over the bathroom...not good. If you want something simple, just buy a Python. Its the best $25 I ever spent. The attachment that came with the Python, that goes into the faucet didn't fit my faucet, so I had to get another. I went to Home Depot and bought plastic screw in thing that replaces the aerator in the faucet. I just leave it in there. The water isn't aerated, but I don't care. I'll try to take a picture when I get home so you can see what I mean. I'm good at describing parts and such. |
