aquarium heater | |
fishowner Enthusiast Posts: 215 Kudos: 206 Votes: 3 Registered: 01-Dec-2003 | i got a 110 watt "Gaurdian" submersible heater for my 20 gallon tank the other day. i followed directions and put it in the tank and let the temperature stabilize.anyways shortly after i turn it on, the "on" indicator light goes off and the water stays the same temp. now it says it shuts off when it reaches the equivalent of 185 degrees F out of water,but theres no way it could get that hot in a matter of 20 min. besides that, i have it set on low and the heater doesn't even feel hot......what am i doing wrong?? |

whetu Mega Fish Posts: 900 Votes: 63 Registered: 31-Jan-2003 | The only way to be sure of the temp of your water is to have another thermometer in there, far away from the heater. I have my thermometer in the corner diagonally opposite to my heater. So double-check with a different thermometer and see if you still have a problem. |
