Secondly, if you do find a bucket, it's hard to maintain adequate filtration and heating in it. Thirdly, the purpose of QT is to be able to see, recognize, and treat diseases, so they are prevented from coming into your main tank. Using a bucket would make it very hard to actually see your fish... If it were me, I'd just go pick up some new 10 gallon tanks. They are usually around only $8 and can be found everywhere. Much more convenient too. ![]() -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

If you did use the bucket you would have net it out and place in a glass or something to view it and it would cause stress. I know don't know nothing about your area so this is just a suggest, but where I live the local fish society or club or whatever usually hold auctions. People sell small tanks by the dollar. Maybe they have a website or the local lfs knows if there is one. That is where I found out about the auction here from. 2nd option this might be more practical for you, but check the wants ads, bargain finder(might not be called that in your area), or the used goods classified for people selling small tanks. |

I use both heaters & filters (corner jobbies & HOB's) on them with no probs whatsoever. I used a sharp knife (carefully ![]() hth Sin ![]() afterthought - & as a bonus they're light as so they're esay to lug around & store when you're not useing them, & it's also handy so you can take 'em outside to steralise them if needs be. and - If you drop 'em they don't break! ![]() Last edited by ~ Sin ~ at 30-Nov-2004 02:14 |
