The regular and most common 55 is 4'x 1' with a height of 2'. This measures are almost exact, but since the english measurement systems is not exact within other measures, it might be as follows:

120cms x 30 cms and 60 cms of height.

Look at my stand... Im really proud of it and its not made of wood, instead it has an internal metal structure and the wood was added later. Its STRONG as hell. I step on it frequently and never moves at all.

If you don't have enough $$$ to make it complete, you might get the interior frame, then later the rest could be built. With this, the wood doesn't takes a lot of internal space because steel tubes are way less bulky (1"x2".

Good luck with your proyect!

I built my own stand. It was fun. You have to seal it tho so as it will not rot.

Also make sure that your stand supports the tank at all corners. I placed the legs of the tank a foot from each end. Then about 3/4 foot from the bottom of the legs I created a shelf.

I can send a picture if you would like?? Just let me know you email address.
