emperor 400 - spraybar clogging | |
newmand Fingerling Posts: 45 Votes: 0 Registered: 13-Mar-2005 | relatively new (less than 6 months old) emperor 400 on 55g freshwater tank - 5 holes on each spraybar - one or more holes gets periodically clogged - use toothpick or paperclip to unclog hole - is the clogging normal - what could be causing this - is there a permanent fix - do others experience the same "problem" - water parameters are fine - thanks |

For this, I can imagine 2 reasons: a) your filter is not maintained often enough and/or b) you don’t have the appropriate filter materials. Can you give us more information on these to options? If it is a HOB filter or internal, does it have cartridges or does it have foam pads... etc. What other media is in your filter and how often do you clean your filer? It could be that you dont clean your filter enough so that is why we need more info. |

Your only option is their 1 cartridge which generally clogs within a week and you can't opt to not use carbon. Many people that do use marineland alter the cartridges by cutting off the blue cover and rubberbanding or tying on their own la |
