I don't know much about the technical side of filters, or the technical side of anything, for that matter. It uses mesh cartridges that are supposed to be changed monthly. can i just rinse out the cartridge when it gets gunky and re-use it? |

If so, just blast the filter cartridge out when it gets clogged and leave the sponge alone. This way, you won't destroy the good bacteria needed to filter your tank. If you want to remove the carbon, just slice the top to open the pouch with a razor (don't cut yourself) and sew it back up with some fishin' line. |

I can probably scoop the carbon out, rinse the cartridge, and then put the carbon back in. Thanks for the advice. Last edited by little fish at 09-Oct-2005 14:31 |
