heater for 110g | |
castlequest Fish Addict Posts: 661 Votes: 0 Registered: 15-Feb-2003 | How many watts do you need for a 110g? Am I going to need multiple heaters? The tank is 48" long x 31" tall x 18" wide if that matters. |

Given that it's a tall tank rather than long, you could skate by with 2 200-250 watt heaters on each end of the tank by the filters and be ok. If your house is generally cold or has a lot of air movement, or your hood doesn't fit well, you'd be better off getting two 300 watters, one for each side. If your house is warm and you have a good top, the former would be ok. One on each side provides better heat dispersion for less cool spots, and also a temporary backup if one fails. Also, two heaters will lessen the stress on a single heater, proving to make them last longer |
