deschazkody Hobbyist Posts: 119 Kudos: 110 Votes: 77 Registered: 25-Jun-2005 | hey i got i 55 gal withe two seprate hoods both hold a single 18 in flo bulb the hoods came with marine eclipse natural daylight bulbs dont know the k or wattage i went and bought some ge aqua rays 15 watts/9325 k i like the color better but it seems two dark any ideas i thought about buying a glass top and putting a 48 in strip light or putting a stripp of alum flashing be hind the 18in to britin up any ideas i kinda lost direction |

It'll let you expand how much of the top of the tank can allow light. I've used reflective surfaces rather than real reflectors and havnt' seen all that much improvement, that might be the difference between a DIY and a real one. IME&O the best lighting for FW tanks is 65-67000K daylight. It gives a clean light with no tinting. ^_^[hr width='40%'] The life, the love, You die to heal. The hope that starts, The broken hearts...
