Getting 4wpg with a 24" housing will be tough, not knowing how many gallons the tank IS makes it more so. The standard 24" bulb is only 20W, so 2 bulbs=40W.

Yes, definitely doable.

I have a 24" Coralife Aqualight with 2 X 65W CF bulbs, giving my 29G (30" long) just under 4.5 wpg.

the tank is a 20 long. it makes since that it would put out the same amount of light as a 30in hood. since the bulb in them are 24in. does that make sense
