When you say double filter, what do you mean? Is that a type of filter, or ...?

Brand and model number of the filter would help
Is this one you bought as part of a kit or a tank you found thru the classifieds .

down at crown point discount store, they have a place were people drop things off and they are sold, this was the case for my 30 gallon, the filter looks like it was made for the tank, the intake goes all the way to the gravel is that good it works great so far with out the filter pads, the slits are small so no sucked up fry but i can remove that part, but then it would probly suck up my big fish

It should have a brand name or something on it somewhere ...you could also try looking on http://www.thatpetplace.com]http://www.thatpetplace.com[/link] or [link=http://www.petsmart.com to see if you find a filter similar to yours.

Without the filter pad you won't have as much space for the bacteria you need for your biofilter to grow.

That is the filter that they give you at wallmart for the 55 combo. I have one It is just like the 330 but no bio wheels.

so, is it a good filter for a 30 gallon? the fish love the current and the filter looks like it came with the hood, and at the moment i sadly had to use my 10 gallon heater for a little while, i will try and get a larger submersible one later, i am not sure of thew wattage of the heater but it looks like the same one in the delux 10 gallon kit, also the 10 gallon i also got it is the same well, a little smaller equiptment but its missing the tube for the intake and im not sure if i can get back to the d-store to see if they still have it
