What if the hood had an open back ? Toirtis Mega Fish Posts: 1260 Kudos: 529 Votes: 6 Registered: 24-Feb-2003	Besides the fire risk (which is higher if you are not quite familiar with what you are doing), if there is a fire, your insurance will likely be invalid if they discover you were using the lights outside of manufacturer recommendations. As far as tube-life goes...tubes that would need replacing in 12 months would probably need replacing every 2-3 months when run this way.
