anyone have any experiences with these type of filters? i was thinking about buy one for my 40 gallon but want to know the advantages and disadvantages of this type of filter over the fluval canister filters.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Im not 100% sure about this info but i believe i heard somethign not long ago about this being a "particle" filter. in other words if you have a really clean tank but have these small things floating around that make it look slightly cloudy, this will clean it. hear it doesnt make a good constent filter, its something you hook up for a few hrs to get "crysle clean" sparkle out of your water in the tank.

Take a pass on that and purchase the canister or a Penquin 330.
