Like the "UV lights" I have in my computer, or the "UV" you get in clubs. They are not high powered and dont have any DNA damaging effect as they only emit low intensity UVA I use a UV cold cathode for a while, but found that it upset the plecos and other nocturnal fish. I used a dark blue cold cathode light instead, which didnt upset the fish, but still lit the tank. The drawback was I had to power it off a standard ATX PSU, which near water was a tad hairy, and I got rid of it in the end.
