Another vote for Aquaclear. I love the versatility of the Aquaclears and mine do an excellent job in my tanks.

well i like the bio wheels alot cause they let me just blast the media with cold water so the stuff just comes off.

Another for aquaclears. I don't care for biowheels. You can't have more bacteria than the fish load supports, and the media in my aquaclear has proven more than capable of supporting enough bacteria for my tanks, so a biowheel doesn't provide anything special. I'll agree 100% that a biowheel *can* support more bacteria than my aquaclear filter, the thing is that there is no *need* for more bacteria than my AC can support.

I also think biowheels are highly over-rated.

Look at all that media space in the AC filters, great place for adding any additional bio-filtration. Ceramic rings, bioballs, etc are way more effective than a biowheel ever will be.

My vote goes to Aquaclear.
I have to say though, I also like my RESUN HOB because the cheap price of the unit outweighs the abilities of other filters.

That's just not true jake, a bio-wheel can provide _a lot_ more bio-filtration then a simple filter pad ever could. A bio-wheel has more effective space, its constantly aerated which produces more bacteria and also provides more air for the fishYou can remove the filter pad from a bio-wheel filter and rinse it off without worrying about a mini-cycle.

I know... On other polls the bio-wheel has always been king... which makes me think this poll has been skewed somehow.

*dang i wish i could make a poll....*

well whats your favorite and why?

(ill just make a list and update it everytime some one "votes"

Aquaclear..:---------- (10)
Penguin....:--- (3)
Emperor....:--- (3)
Whisper....:
Tetratec...:
Millenium..:

i think the emperors are the best. HUGE media surface and area for your own media. teh bio wheel is also HUGE, has a bigger diameter than the penguins as well.

so far AC filters are winning..

AC filters still winning...

ah stupid edited sentecnces go awayyy

and still the ACs are winning...

and we are tied O.o

i dont really like the AC filters. some times bigger objects dont get trapped in the sponge and instead just lies in the bottom waiting to be removed.
