beachbabe13185 Hobbyist Posts: 61 Kudos: 65 Votes: 68 Registered: 21-Jun-2004 | I dont know when the thing stunk on but the result is that my tank is now at 90 degrees. Other parameters are normal NO2 0, NO3 20 ppm, NH4 0 pH 8ish test isnt very accurate for high ph but its stable and fish have been raised in it. I know that i am overstocked with my guppies and two ottos ( i lost count of them ) but thats another thread theres about 5 males and two semi juvie females and about 9 pip squeeks. how do i safely lower the temp back down to 75. i already found one female trying to swim but she was spinning as she swam around HELP Amanda |

Again, you need to gradually lower the heat and definitely do not put ice cubes in the tank. Hopefully, the temp didn't get so high as to claim many of your fish. Dropping the temperature too fast can also cause problems and possibly an outbreak of diseases. Jim |

Better news is that you did not have a thermostat that was too large for your tank! __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |
