Bleeding/Dying Otto - - Quick Help! | |
FLEXJr Hobbyist Posts: 61 Kudos: 32 Votes: 1 Registered: 26-Feb-2006 | So, i purchased 3 Otto's yesterday and they were all doing fine, swimming great, eating algae, schooling etc. My parameters are fine - i even threw in a piece of zucchini. I just noticed that one of the otto's has a cut on its side, its lightly bleeding under its left front fin. He can still swim, but i think he's in pain because he just falls to the substrate after a while. I put some Seachem Stress Guard into the tank, hoping it may help. I dont believe any fish nipped him. The other inhabitants of the tank are as follows: 3 Zebra Danio, 2 Red Phantoms, 4 Harlequin Rasbora, and of course the other 2 otto's. Any suggestions on what i can do to keep him alive or help fix the wound? Here is a picture of the Otto: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h90/fishtank29/DSC01263.jpg Thanks greatly, appreciate it. |

I also contact the LFS and see what they have to say. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. Thats really a tip for bigger fish though, with an otto you really have no choice except to ride the injury through, providing as much antibacterial and antifungal support as possible. Make sure the water quality is as clean as possible. It will either make it or it wont. |
