My fifty gallon aquarium has recently been acquiring new specimens (added slowly of course), yet I seem to have aquired a contagious disorder os some sort despite meticulously checking out the fish before purchase. At first I thought I had a simple case of ich, yet as more of the species contracted the illness, I found that this was not the case. My smaller angelfish as well as a few others seem to have a greyish sort of something sloughing off of their scales, yet other fish have larger whitish spots on their fins that look disimilar to the salt-like ich nodules. I have treated the tank for ich within twelve hours with no effect on the symptoms and have purchased Jungle's brand of "Fungus-Clear" thinking that possibly the ailment was a body funugus of some sort. What is your take on this phenomena? Is the medication I purchased effective? When should I add the fungus treatment? Thanks in advance.

I personally take them back to where you bought them explain the situation and ask for any good advice they can offer. If it came with the fish otheres would have also mentioned it to them.

The medication has taken its toll on the quality of my aquarium water, yet seem to have cured my fish of their ailments. The water is nowextremely cloudy and I am assuming that the tank is experiencing a "mini-cycle" after the dose of medication. Should I purchase cycle in order to speed this process or the chemical that is locally available to clear cloudy water? Or shoudl I leave the tank to its own devices (with water changes of course)?

Sounds like you could have killed all you good bacteria. It should be safe to add some live bacteria if you can get it or a product which will boost your bacteria.
