My cardinal that I think was injured (gash on his side) has now developed red spots (looks like red ick) on top of his back. It’s very strange, I have never seen this nor have heard of such a thing, anyone know anything about this? He is not scratching or anything else.

Water test results:
ph-8.0
NO2 - 0
NO3 -5
Amm - 0
KH - 161.1 (9dkh)
GH - 35.8 (2 dgh)
Temp - 78-80 degrees
weekly water change of 21 gals
lots of plants and gravel/sand mix bottom.
Tank has been set up for 2 years now.
I did a 50% water change two weeks ago, and last night another 50% after noticing the red spots.

See my profile (link below) for fish and setup.

I would take a very wild guess and say some type of infection. You could try treating with both Primafix and Melafix naturally these are compatable just follow the instructions as directed.

As I stated it is a wild guess.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
