Danio acting weird | |
FLEXJr Hobbyist Posts: 61 Kudos: 32 Votes: 1 Registered: 26-Feb-2006 | so i just started cycling my 29g ~ a week ago and currently have 3 danios to cycle it with. One of the danios has not kept ANY food down, he repeatedly spits it out. Also, he just floats by the heater by himself all the time just moving forward enough every now and then to battle the current... I got these danios 8 days ago, any suggestions? |

Have you used any other products eg a dechlorinator? The peramiters are a must here if you want a correct answer. If you can not do a full water test take a good sample to your LFS and get their opinion what is wrong. The fish is stressed out also it might not have been a healthy fish to start off with. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. FLEXJr Hobbyist Posts: 61 Kudos: 32 Votes: 1 Registered: 26-Feb-2006 | Okay, today i just added some Harlequin Rasboras to the tank and put the pregnant danio and the father danio into a 5G. 29G parameters: pH 7.1 Ammonia: .50 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 0 All other fish seem to be eating food and even wanting more even after chowing down for a few minutes. I have not used and "Cycle" products or any of the like. I have only used BIO-Coat. No other chemicals to change the pH or bacteria have been added. I have One Red Ludwiga and One Rotala Rotundifolia. I have a Penguin Power Filter 200. |

Danios are a hardy fish, but even cycling with them causes them stress. Do you use a water dechlorinator? That could be part of the problem. Whats the temp of your tank? |
