my eletric yellow is at the surface . his scalese are rougth . and he looks like there loosing there color . they look white. i had a eletric blue die last week same sort of thing i thaught he was picked on . but he died my yellow wasnt picked on . any ideas .

the tank tests are fine ecept nitrate . ive been doing a 20% change and i have nit zorb in there to help it about 40 now so will do another change in a sec .

It's kind of hard to see much in that photo.

When you say the scales look rough, do you mean they look like they're sticking out?

Water changes are always a good idea, make sure you are matching the temperature of the new water with the tank water, use a thermometer for best results. Also be sure you're treating each bucket of water with dechlor if you are on town water. Even just a little chlorine can do a lot of damage to a tank.


How long have you had these fish in that tank? How many fish are in the tank, what size tank is it and what size/type of filter are you running (ie canister, HOB, ect). What type of decorations, caves, hiding places do you have.
Knowing more about your tank will help us get your fish better again.

Hi,
From looking at the photo, we can see that the fish
is not healthy. That pose, is typical of a very sick
fish, the belly seems a bit concave, and your comment
about the scales sticking out are yet another indication
of a very sick fish.

"Dropsey" is one possibility but check out the "scales
sticking out" symptom.
