I have been having some problems with a couple of fish that I had got from a man who sold me his tank. The problem is that they seem to have parts of there bodies dying. I have treated them with Malachaite Green and raised the temp in the tanks, they seem to be doing ok, but I am not sure what it is. I did the little questionare and it left me with one option stating that the green malachate would do the trick, but it didnt say parts dying. However it did say erroding, is that the same thing? I am waiting to see what happens.

Thanks again

Tell us a bit more about the tank and these "dying body parts" please.

Tank size

Water parameters (pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate)
What is your cleaning schedule for the tank?
What fish are infected, what is their behavior/eating habits?
Describe the infected parts of the fish in more detail.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Sounds like the usual necrotising bacterial problems, broad spectrum antibiotics should do the job, baytril etc.Just make sure the tank is nice and clean before you put it in or the co2 will go ballistic.
