My fish tank is completely green and the pet shop owner
Suggested that I clean out the tank everyday but
Nothing has improved

Hi
I assume that you are talking about the tank water.
It is called "Green Water" and is actually great, if you
are feeding baby fish, and not so great if you are just
trying to see your fish.

Check out the information in this link for the way to
clear up your tank...
http://www.otocinclus.com/articles/greenwater.html

If you are talking about a form of green algae that has
taken over the inside of the tank (glass, gravel, plants,
and ornaments) then that is a different problem and this
link should help you determine which type of algae you
are being plagued with and how to eliminate it...

Hope this helps...
Frank

After I posted this reply (been out of the state for
most of this month on vacation) I noted you'd deleted
it, probably because of lack of replies. So, I undeleted
the post and added my reply.

I had the same exact problem with my 75gallon. I ended up having to get a uv sterilizer. It's a little pricey but it worked wonders. Don't bother with water changes and black outs as they don't work.

Thanks for the tips. By the way how much does an uv sterilizer cost?

Hi
I'd have no idea but I bet it would be an easy search
online "down under" to find some ddistributors and see what
they charge. If you order from "up here" I'm sure it would
be extremely expensive.

My all in one was like $90. It had the pump attached to it and all so I had no need to attach it to a power filter which was confusing to me lol

Hi,
Just a couple of comments...
When the Algae Clear does its thing, remember to do a
very large water change. When the algae is killed the
water will become polluted and you will need to "dilute the
soup." I'd do a 75% water change, followed a week later
with another.

The UV sterilizer will kill off the algae cells as well
as anything else that is alive as it passes through the
system. They are an excellent filter for live critters,
such as bacteria and algae cells, and anything free
swimming. But, they are expensive, and the UV bulb must
be kept clean, as well as replaced regularly.
The replacement part, is the expensive part.
BTW, don't ever touch the bulb with your fingers. The
oils in the skin will contaminate the bulb and the at that
point the heat will become concentrated and the quartz
glass bulb will soften and become distorted, sometimes
so much that the only way to remove it is to break the
bulb and take out the pieces. When that happens the
damage to the whole filter is so much that one usually has
to replace the whole filter with a brand new one.
