This is a true story. About two months ago, I had a female guppy who had babies. I noticed a growing white "bump" near it's stomache. It grew slitly larger evry day. I wasn't very concerned, but a few days later it died. When I looked at desease info. page, I thought it was ich, but i dont know for shore.

Ich does not show as a lump but looks more like the fish has been dusted with grains of salt.
At a guess I would say the fish had a fast growing tumor.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I wasn't really sure it was ich, because I didn't know for sure if nonmollies could get it. I thought it was a fungus diesese under the skin. I'm surprised it didm't spread to the other fish.

Bumps generally only come in five categories. In order of popularity thats septic lumps from infected tissue(bacterial), parasite cysts, ruptures , osmotic regulation issues and cancer.

Four out of the five can spread , so treat the tank with a few broad spectrum treatments to be sure.
