Ingo, I've wondered about that myself ... the odd part being that the new Otocinclus don't seem to be affected at all by what's happening .... yet (touch wood). And they came in the same bag. But I am wondering if that goldback Cardinal brought something with it ... I wonder if Cory_Addict has had the same woes befall her since her new arrival?

Could someone page her and find out if hers is still alive and kicking?

Thus far I seem to have contained the spread from the other Pandas ... here's hoping anyway ... I'm just waiting now for the second Panda (and it would be Shy Di, my other female, wouldn't it?) to head the same way as Mata Hari ... she's pop-eyed but as yet no signs of haemorrhage ... who knows, the meds might pull her through, but I've yet to see any hoepful signs, thus far she's deteriorating, but not at the same alarming rate as Mata Hari did - she went from bouncing health to bloated death in 8 hours ...

You'd think with the care and attention I lavish on my fish these things wouldn't happen to me ... just goes to show doesn't it? I get the feeling just lately someone up there doesn't like me big time ...

Calilasseia,

I am so sorry to hear that, in particular because you cannot identify the reason behind it and as such your countermeasures are based on speculation only.

If it right that your problems started soon after you added your golden cardinal? Maybe this has something to do with it.

Sorry again,

Ingo

I hope you work it out it took me a while but all I know it came through the water and only effected the 5ft tank not the 11gal Betta Tank.

It apprently caused a massive recycle and this caused all the deaths of the bottom feeders.

This often happens at this time of the year in our area early to mid Spring.
