I have introduced a black stripe sea bass into a tank with a cunner, a pipe fish and a black fish the only problem is my sea bass won't eat. I have given it time to become aquainted with its new environment(2 weeks) but it wont eat it had eaten when I first put him in the tank. I am worried that he is either sick or is still scared can someone help me.

Tank size: 20 gal
substrates: coral sand, dead mans fingers and live rock.

Can you give us more details, like what you're trying to feed the fish and how long you've had it? I suspect that either it's not getting the right food, or it is still stressed out from the move to your tank.

Another point is that I think you've got too many fish for a twenty gallon. I'm not familiar with most of those fish, but the cunner and your sea bass alone will grow much too large for a twenty. Unless you already have a place to move the fish once they get more than two inches, I would seriously get rid of at least the larger two.

Welcome to the site, by the way.

I agree with SB more info please. In the mean time contact the LFS where you got the fish and ask what they were feeding it with, also all the water peramiters of the tank it came from plus all your tank info will certainly help.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

well i was originally feeding it guppies and gold fish. It has probably been about 2-3 weeks since i put it in the tank. The only thing that confuses me is that when I first put it in the tank it ate everything and now it won't touch the food.

What are your water parameters? It could very well be a water quality issue, considering how heavily the tank is stocked.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
