![]() | Neon tetra with Pop eye |

I have no idea of how long it has been like that. About 6 months ago I went through a bout of fin rot and the neons took a beating before I could get it all cleared up. For all I know it could have had pop eye since then. ![]() |

In severe cases, the eye can burst from the socket. Occurrences: Pop-eye typically affects only one or two fish in an aquarium or pond, and is not considered to be infectious. It eats well and is as active as the rest of the fish. I medicated the tank a couple of times to clear up the finrot and possibly treated the popeye at the same time. That was about 4-6 months ago. I'll just keep an "eye" on it to make sure it doesn't get any worse. Thanks again! Dwayne |

Usually if you keep the water quality really good and the tank really clean it should clear on its own. Try increasing the frequency and amount of your water changes. TEST your water or get it tested at the local fish shop and post the numbers up here so we can give better advice. ![]() |
