is there any signs to look for in a pre-drospy female betta.

for some reason, i have a feeling about this female, idk if it is a good feeling for bad feeling, but i am feeling something, now she is really fat, idk either egg bound or pre-drospy, as no scale pop yet.

is their any ohter signs to look for?

the belly scales just seem funny to me, as stretched,

again i have a funny feeling about this one, and she is a lovely female that i did have breeding plans with.

All you can really do is take precautions. Check your nitrate level in the tank. Make sure she has a varied diet so that constipation can be ruled out of the equation.
Dropsy can be caused by bad water quality and also renal failure. Not much you can do about the latter.

Hope fishy gets skinny again soon.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Swellings do often start dropsy, either its the onset of dropsy itself ,or constipation , bacterial inflammation which might cause damage to the renal system or the osmotic failure associated with renal damage. How this helps you though, im not sure. Theres just too many causes of swelling for it to be specific to dropsy, although dropsy almost inevitably causes swelling. You never know till you get full symptoms, and then its too late I guess .

I guess you can only act on what you see as being feasible. A few peas for digestion, maybe a dewormer,a tank cleanout, maybe even an antibiotic? Its shooting in the dark really.

unfort, she died last night.

her stomach area was red with like a mini sore or internal bleeding, and her scales ended up just a alittle poped up, however she was a white female betta, and it was very un-noteable.
