His mouth looks fine to me (comparing to my porcupine puffer) so I definitely don't think it's the teeth. Poor baby! Keep us updated on his condition. |

They have been out of business for about a year or so now but I still see some of their products on the shelf. Otherwise, do a search for those other meds. The parasites muct be treated internally. FW fish do not "drink" water like marine fish do. So their food must be medicated. If he won't eat, try adding a garlic suplement to the water, to enhance appetite. You might want to put out a cry for help at The Puffer Forum for some Discomed or other meds. Last edited by Pufferpunk at 26-Jun-2005 01:26 |

Good luck. *waves wand* Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

While discomed/levamisol soaked food is preferrable, if the fish isn't eating follow the instructions here (I think it's safer than forcefeeding): http://www.loaches.com/faq_parasites.html I've treated botias & paradisefish using this method. The botias were wildcaught & I'm not sure what parasite they had, the paradisefish obviously had Camallanus. Eric Last edited by Big E at 04-Jul-2005 16:46 |
