What is the consensus regarding length of time to quarantine new stock?
When deciding on how many I can quarantine at once, should I use the current size, or the potential size-using the fish inch rule?
Thanks,
Dan

I have never owned a QT and never had a real problem. Size to get
This will depend on the size of the fish you intend to keep.
Keep in tank at one time.
I would only keep the one species of what you have just purchased reason you could easily mix a healthy few with a sick different species.
Also remember you do not want to introduce too many fish into your tank at any one time.
Length of time
I would say a minimum of 2-3 weeks yet some problems could take longer to show up.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

I would say the 2 or three week rule. I would use Melafix and Pimafix when in quarantine. These are all natural products and I have never had problems with them. They will help cure any underlying diseases that you may not know about from the begining. Best wishes.
